Jared and Annica met in Von Ebert Brewing at an after church event for young adults.

Normally, dozens of young adults gathered for the "After Party" hosted by Bridgetown's Young Adult ministry. The week that Jared met Annica, however, only six other people were there. Two groups showed up separately, one of girls and one of guys. Someone offered to join tables, and Jared made sure to sit across from Annica. Though she was nervous to open up, and he thought she must not have much to say...

They didn't talk again until running into each other at a mutual friend's Cinco De Mayo party where they exchanged numbers and began facetiming. What they found in each other was someone who spoke the same language. Someone who wanted to grow towards Jesus and in doing so, inspired the other person to do the same. Annica felt Jared listened and loved her creative mind. Jared felt Annica fought with him for him, and that she felt like the home he wanted.

From that point on, Jared and Annica went on multiple dates a week to the river, hiking, reading in the forest, playing music together or finding live music, and going out for good food

Their favorite thing to do, was to find beautiful places where they could talk and enjoy the beauty of creation

It was on a trip to the coast with Bridgetown Young Adults that Jared first told Annica he loved her, and she felt the same

From then on, they began to share their worlds. Between families, friends, and church group, Jared and Annica joined each other's communities.

After many months of them both roughing through school, working hard hours, calling each other on their breaks, and counting the days to Sunday when they could go to church together, they realized they had each found their person. They knew what the next step would be...so Jared took Annica to her family's cabin on the bay and asked her to marry him. (She said yes, by the way)

Since then they have been loving their community, continuing school, chasing after Jesus and his calling for their lives, enjoying the little moments together where time slows down and they can find another beautiful place to talk and enjoy the view.
